Remember those games of World of Darkness you played? Not the ones of personal damnation or salvation. Not the intricate political maneuvering.

No, the ones where you had a trench coat with a Katana and a Shotgun completely hidden under it, where you fought the Elders in their secret underground ziggurat filled with their fleshwarped minions for you to cleave through, and instead of angst, you were the coolest thing ever?

We remember them. They were fun, even though they were totally unbalanced, made limited sense at the best of times, and totally flew in the face of the themes and intentions of the developers.

This is an attempt to reconstruct that style of game. We’re calling it Gothic Occult Action – take some of the sillier bits, work on the balance, add some of the media that’s come since the 90s where it fits, design a game which does this deliberately, instead of incidentally. It may not make you 15 again, but if we can get that feeling again, it’s a success.
